Description

A delicate portrait of a young watercress seller holding a wicker basket full of cress. These street sellers were common during the 18th and 19th centuries and would sell to workers early in the morning. Well presented in a wash-line mount and gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. On watercolour paper.
