A delightful 19th Century watercolour depicting shepherds resting in a wooded landscape with mountains visible in the distance. There is a label on the reverse inscribed 'This watercolour drawing was exhibited at the Glasgow Academy of Fine Arts in 1865. It is the artist's conception of a passage from Milton's Comus. The name of the artist is not known'. Well presented in a card mount and carved wood frame with scrolling detail. Unsigned. On wove.
