Framed Late 19th Century Oil - Classical Woman with Urn

Description

A finely painted study of a young woman holding a terracotta urn. She is dressed in a classical costume, reminiscent of a Greek goddess, and stands in an autumnal setting. Well presented in a dark wood frame with Greek key molding detail. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface dirt. There are several small canvas repairs visible to the reverse. Inspection under UV light shows some minor areas of overpainting to restore these canvas tears. Slight creasing to the canvas from the stretcher bars.
