These works were traditionally made by sailors during long periods at sea as a pastime and souvenir of their naval service. Signs of wear consistent with age. Visible sun damage and discoloration to the textile. Light dirtying and debris caught behind the frame's glazing. Small losses/humidity damage to the maple veneer.
