A striking early 20th century oil painting of Rue Laffitte in Paris, with Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart pictured in blue skies. The artist has indistinctly signed to the lower right and the oil has been well presented in an ornate gilt frame with acanthus and dart ornamentation. Part legible inscription by the artist can be seen to the reverse. On canvas board.
Condition
There is a slight bow to the substrate, made better by fixing the painting in a frame. The frame's gilding has deteriorated and there are various losses to the mouldings and areas of cracking visible down each member. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
