Description

A fine early 20th Century river landscape in oil, with figures punting on the Thames at Hampton, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The artist has depicted Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare to the right, a folly built in 1756, and figures appearing to be in Edwardian dress. Well-presented in a gilt wooden frame with leaf and berry moulding, as shown. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

In very good condition overall. Some minor surface discolouration. The canvas has been relined. The frame has some small areas of restoration, and is also in very good condition.
