A fine watercolour painting with gouache and gum arabic details, depicting a seated girl. The inscription on the reverse reads: '"By Mrs Turnbull" ? after by James Holmes. Georgina Smyth (about 1830)'. The date '1807' is inscribed to the lower right-hand corner of the painting, however, the sitter's dress indicates that this was painted at a later date, in the 1830's.
