This serene watercolour depicts a tranquil river scene with boats moored along the bank. A collection of cottages are visible further along the water's edge, where washing hangs between the buildings. In the distance, a church emerges softly through the mist. Well presented in a highly ornate gilt frame with a washline mount. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
There is some light discolouration and foxing to the paper; however, the overall condition is good for a picture of this age. Scuffs and cracking to the frame. Several losses to the ornamentation, most notably on the lefthand side.
