A vibrant still life scene featuring potted geraniums on a sunny ledge, framed by climbing foliage and further greenery to the background. Cool shadow plays against the warm light falling across the sill. Short, textured strokes of colour give the whole arrangement a lively, broken surface, with the reds of the flowers standing out clearly against the softer greens and purples. The painting is well presented in a vintage wooden frame. Monogrammed 'H.H' to the lower left and dated 1921.
Condition
A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
