A very fine portrait of a young gentleman. He wears a handsome dark jacket with white shirt and black neckerchief, with thick black curls and heavy sideburns. Indistinctly signed, possibly reading 'J. Wheel**** May 1832.' Well presented in a thick rosewood frame with gilt slip. Depth measures 5cm. Signed indistinctly, On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. With marks and scratches to the frame. With light craqueleure to the coat, possibly caused by a varnish or gum arabic reacting over time. Overall the condition is good.
