A fine 17th-century botanical engraving depicting four plant varieties: 1. Nasturtium Indicum, 2. Nasturtium alterum, 3. Valeriana graeca, 4. Papas Americanorum. The print originates from the landmark botanical publication Hortus Eystettensis (1613), with plates engraved primarily by Wolfgang Kilian, Friedrich Bouttats, Levinus Hulsius, and Dominicus Custos, after drawings by Basilius Besler, the Nuremberg apothecary who compiled and oversaw the entire work. Light foxing and discolouration to the paper. The frame has minor surface wear, including small chips and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
