The artwork is in need of restoration. There are several open tears to the canvas, largest measuring 4cm horizontally to the centre of the canvas. There is discolouration, surface dirt and creasing the the substrate. It appears there are earlier attempts at restoring holes in the canvas, resulting in marks that stretch across the lower half of the painting. The artwork is heavily varnished.
