A finely painted portrait of a jovial man in seventeenth-century costume smoking a pipe. The subject is seated casually on a chair, whilst a large oil painting, ornate wooden chest, and richly decorated rug furnish the luxurious room. The work is signed 'J. Schröder' to the upper left and is well presented in a dark frame with a gilt slip. On board.
Condition
The artwork is in fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. Light scuffs and scratches to the frame.
