A very fine and delicate watercolour still life, depicting two oranges on a branch with leaves. The artist has a very high proficiency in the medium, achieving an outstanding sense of realism. The work is from a student examination at the South Kensington School, now the Royal College of Art. This is indicated by a blind stamp to the lower left corner, marked 'E.S.K.' Unsigned.
Condition
In good condition for a picture of this age. There is some foxing and surface discolouration, mainly around the edges, as shown.
