A fine 19th Century French Empire style gilt wood picture frame with composition mouldings, including lamb's tongue running pattern, palmette corners and fluted cove. The frame currently holds a mirror, which could be easily removed. Window opening measures 43.7cm x 30.7cm. Rebate measures 45cm x 32.5cm. Overall size 56.3cm x 43.3cm.
Condition
The condition is typical for a frame of this age including some areas of restoration to the corners, and some small losses. Minor stable cracking around the mouldings and corners, as expected.
