A fine quality late Georgian tea caddy in remarkably original condition.
Size: 20cm x 10cm x 11.5cm
On Wood.Most of the veneer is well-figured mahogany with boxwood, walnut, ebony and green stained inlays. The hinges, lock, striker, and escutcheon all appear to be original and there does not seem to be repairs of any kind. The box has its original red paper and metallic paper lining and the tea compartment covers seem to retain their original knobs. The box retains a fine old finish. There are tiny bits of veneer missing at the corners.
