A stunning, highly detailed Edwardian portrait of a gentleman. The handling of the graphite is exquisite and obviously the work of a highly skilled draughtsman. The portrait is dated 1906 and signed indistinctly to the lower right. The signature looks to read 'E. r. Harrigan' or similar. Beautifully presented in a period ebonised frame with floral scrolling and strapwork. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Minor foxing to areas of the cream background, not affecting the main image. An area of restoration to the paper at the lower left corner - again this does not affect the main image. The frame is in good condition.
