A wonderful c.1830 pastel portrait of a lady with delicate facial features and dark parted hair. She is posed wearing traditional dress, her spectacular fan-shaped headpiece instantly grabs your attention in stripes of green, blue and red, paired with a bright red bodice and voluminous checked sleeves. The portrait is housed behind glass in a distressed gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. There is a light white scuff mark to the right of the sitter's face. Small tears and marks to the edges of the paper concealed by the frame's rebate. Light wear to the already distressed gilt effect frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
