A thoroughly charming 20th Century oil portrait in the style of the Dutch painters of the "Golden Era" in the 1600s. The portrait shows a jolly fellow with a cheeky smile and tricorn hat, giving the viewer a glance as he holds his sherry glass. The artist has signed to the upper right and also inscribed "Mchn," meaning München (Munich). The painting has been presented in a handsome 20th Century frame with with swept and pierced corners in acanthus and foliate detailing. Therre is a label at the reverse with the date. On canvas.
