This delightful mid century gouache study dates to circa 1945 and depicts a beautiful arrangement of poppies in a decorative porcelain jug. The artist captures the flowers in wonderful detail, using delicate brushwork to captures each petal. A small ceramic bowl sits to the left of the composition. Signed to the lower left. Presented in a glazed painted wooden frame and white card mount. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Creases to the paper can be seen predominantly to the lower right. There is some light marking to the frame.
