Description

A charming late 19th-century needlework sampler, created by the young Emily Galley in 1892. The cross-stitch design includes cases of the alphabet, numerals, as well as a religious sentence in a scene of animals and trees. Well presented in a glazed oak frame. On mesh fabric.

Condition

A particularly fine example considering its age. All of the threads are still bright in colour. Some areas of discolouration to the mesh-like fabric and some light scuffs to the contemporary wood frame.

Size

25 x 24cm (9.8" x 9.4")
