Elsie Gledstanes RBA FRSA - (British 1891-1982) oil on board - a very well executed portrait of a baby. In fine condition. Signed in pencil lower right corner. A member of the Royal Society of British Artists and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Elsie Gledstanes was an artist in tempera, oil, pastel and watercolours. Granddaughter of Sheldon Burrows Adam, she studied at the Slade and Byam Shaw schools of art and in Paris. Throughout the 1930s and 1940s she was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and RBA, SP, SWA, RPS, NPS PS
