Description

An interesting and unique sculptural artwork by the industrial artist Elizabeth Lewis, depicting a copper and concrete ornamental composition. Lewis has used a combination of metal and resin in this monumental work, producing a rough and sometimes sharp surface texture. Attached to an enamel backing board, and presented in a copper metallic frame, as shown. Signed on the reverse.

Condition

There is some surface loss to the lower right corner of the artwork, as shown. Overall the appearance is very good.

Artist Biography

Elizabeth Lewis was an artist whose work is characterised by the use of various metals and resins. Her industrial art consists of wall panels made for boardrooms and foyers of industrial premises, frequently utilising components produced by the companies concerned, as in the panels for the Rolls-Royce offices in England and France, the Minigrip Corporation of New York, and other manufacturers large and small. Her work has been included in exhibitions in the Royal West of England Academy, the Royal Ulster Academy and private galleries throughout the United Kingdom. She has also held solo exhibitions in the Home Counties, the Midlands, and Wales.
