A fine late 19th century watercolours depicting a small herd of cattle cooling off in the wetlands of Ilminster. The painting is signed to the lower right-hand corner. Well presented in a fine gilt-effect frame with wash-line mount. Glazed. On paper.

Artist Biography

Landscape painter mainly in watercolours and the wife of the well known painter John Surtees. Elizabeth Surtees exhibited from 1880-88 at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Dudley Gallery, the Walker Gallery, Liverpool and the Royal Society of British Artists.
