Elizabeth Cope (b.1952) is a painter who was born in County Kildare, Ireland. She studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin from 1970-72, at the Sir John Cass School of Art in Whitechapel, London, from 1972-74, and at Chelsea School of Art from 1974-77. The recipient of many awards which include a Spanish Government Grant, 1974, French Government Grant, 1982, Arts Council Travel Bursary to Somalia, 1994, and an Arts Council Travel Award to New York has resulted in much travel. Her solo shows include exhibitions at the Peacock Theatre, Dublin, 1979, Alliance Francaise, Dublin, 1980, Wooster Gallery, New York, 1991, Hanne Brehm Gallery, Zurich, 1992, Park Walk Gallery, London, 1995 and the Pecinan Gallery, Mexico City in 2001. She has also exhibited in group shows in London, at the RHA, in Boston, Florida, and in Paris. Her work is held in the collections of the Bank of Ireland, Allied Irish Bank, the Contemporary Irish Art Society, Limerick University, Jury's Hotel, Dublin, Delta Airlines, and Dublin City University.
