Description

A delightful early 20th century coloured etching by Elizabeth Armsden. The artist has captured a rural scene with two figures milking a cow, whilst looking after the remaining cows in nearby shallow waters. Plate lines have been cropped. On thick paper, laid to backing card. Unsigned.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some surface marks and slight creasing to the backing card.

Artist Biography

Elizabeth Armsden was a little known artist, living in Dorset for most of her career in the early 20th Century. She worked at Studland in Dorset and shared a studio with A.H. Berens. Her work was published by 'The Artist' and she was known to have exhibited in both London and Paris.
