This vibrant floral still life by female artist Elisabeth Zierhold (1895-1968) captures a generous bunch of summer flowers in a rounded fish bowl vase. Shaggy yellow dahlias, white daisies and delicate deep blue flowers have been rendered thickly and freely, with the petals built up in short strokes that catch the light. The painting is well presented in a silver-effect frame. Signed lower left. On canvas.
Condition
Some light marks and discolouration to the surface of the painting. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
