Description

A fine acid etched still life showing a candle in a brass holder and a vase of wilted, dried leaves and flowers on the artist's desk. The print has been finished with touches of watercolour and the artist has signed and inscribed to the lower edge. The print has been presented in a contemporary brushed gilt and lime wash frame with card mount and glazing. There are several gallery labels at the reverse with the artist and painting details. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has general scuffing and wear to the surface.

Artist Biography

Born on July 28, 1948 in Leningrad.
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
In 1976 she graduated from the graphic faculty of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin (CVC), studied with G.D. Epifanov. Thesis - design and illustrations for the novel by A. Dumas "The Three Musketeers", the rating is excellent. Awarded the qualification of a graphic artist.
Since 1976 she collaborated as an illustrator with the publishing houses "Prosveshchenie", "Soviet Writer", "Khudozhestvennaya Literatura", with the editors of the magazines "Neva" and "Koster".
Since 1991 - a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists.
From 1985 to 1994 she performed a series of watercolors and etchings commissioned by the Art Fund.
She illustrated educational and fiction literature for the publishing houses "North-West", "Azbuka", "Golden Age", "Bustard", "Terra", "Education", "Historical Illustration".
At present, he is an associate professor of the Department of Graphics at the St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Design.
