A dynamic and action packed oil scene showing two foxes in the snow with a freshly killed white hare, cowering and protecting their spoils from a majestic, eagle, diving down to scavenge the carcass from the foxes. The artist has signed to the lower left and the painting has been presented in a gilt frame with oversize scrolling molding. There is a shipping label at the reverse from a previous purchase in the 20th Century. On canvas.


The frame has some small areas of loss to the gilt. The painting has two horizontal creases to the canvas, some craquelure to the surface and minor discolouration. There is a small area of abrasion to the paint in the upper left quadrant.
