Painter, born in Clifton, Bristol, she studied at St. John's Wood School of Art, 1939 under Patrick Millard, Ernest Perry and Kenneth Martin and at the Anglo-French Art Centre, following the end of World War II. A member of Artists' International Association from 1939, Bell exhibited in London with the Young Contemporaries, LG, RBA and at the Leicester Galleries. She also worked as a design consultant with the Council for Industrial Design during the 1950’s and 60’s. Her last two major exhibitions were held at the Duncalfe Galleries, Harrogate in 1989 and a retrospective show was held at the Chappel Galleries, near Colchester, Essex in 2003. Eventually, her poor eyesight prevented her from working during the last few years of a long and active life. A studio sale of her work was held at Christie's, South Kensington in May 2005. The Mercer Art Gallery holds one of her paintings. She wrote, (but did not illustrate)_ two children's books namely 'Tales from the End Cottage' in 1970 and 'More Tales from the End Cottage' two years later. She died in Leiston, Suffolk.
