A fine and charming watercolour painting with gouache details by the artist Edwin St. John, depicting an Italian lake scene with boats and figures. Unsigned. The artist's name and title are inscribed on the reverse. Possibly signed to the back of the painting. Well-presented in a double, washline card mount and in an ornate, gilt-effect frame. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Some losses to the frame, as well as small scuffs and marks.
