A blissfully colourful sunset view of Victoria Beach on the shore of the vast Lake Ontario. The sky is an array of orange, lilac and pale blue which reflects of the lake's surface and the sand is vibrant orange in the blushing sunset. The artist's use of colour and simplicity in the shapes of the rocks and trees give this painting an effortlessness and serenity. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a contemporary frame. There is a biography of the artist at the reverse where the location is inscribed.Condition
Two scratches at the upper right quadrant, in otherwise fine condition.

Artist Biography
Edwin C.Lockey came to Canada in 1919. He began his training as a lithographic artist in England and followed the same calling in Canada. He studied at the Art School of Durham in England, The Ontario College of Art and Grand Central School Of Art. Since 1934 he has been living in Vancouver and takes his subjects mostly from shorelines and mountain of British Columbia.
