A charming watercolour scene depicting a watermill sat on the verge of a pond. In the distance the houses of a small village can be seen on the horizon. Signed to the lower right. Presented in part gilt frame. On paper.

Artist Biography

Edward Tucker was a painter born in Bristol who had five artistic sons Edward Jnr, Alfred, Hubert, Frederick and Arthur, all of whom he taught to paint, and apart from Alfred they were all stalwarts of the Lake Artists Society. He moved around the country many times with his family until 1865 when he settled at Langdale in the Lake District. He exhibited at the RA and a painting by him is in the Dartmouth Museum.
