In fine condition.Born and raised in Bradford, Yorkshire, he began attending art school around the age of 19. It is assumed he began his studies locally in Bradford or Leeds and then moved to London. In John Gorman's 'Images of labour' it is stated that Lacey was a student of James Havard Thomas at the Slade. From 1924 he exhibited in London, Manchester, and Glasgow. Lacey established a practice as a sculptor of portraits and amongst his sitters were the socialist activist and leader, Henry Mayers Hyndman (1842-1921) and a posthumous bronze bust of Mrs Rosalind Travers Hyndman.
