Painter, born in Norwich, Norfolk. Seago was a self-taught artist who began his artistic career in opposition to his parents' wishes. He received some tuition on landscape painting from Bertram Priestman and also briefly attended the Royal Drawing Society. In 1929 Seago held his first solo exhibition in London. Spent several years touring with circuses throughout Europe and related his experiences in two books, ‘Circus Company’, 1933, and ‘Sons of Sawdust’, 1934.
Seago served with the Royal Engineers during World War II working with the Camouflage Directorate. Seago also designed the insignia and colours for the Airborne Forces. In 1946 he was elected RBA, in 1957 an Associate of the RWS, and in 1959 RWS. He also exhibited at the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle, Ipswich Art Club, RA and Paris Salon and had several solo exhibitions abroad. In 1962 he was elected President of the Nottingham Society of Artists, a post he held until the year he died.
