Painter, etcher and illustrator, born Jersey, Channel Islands. He studied at the Lambeth School of Art, under Philip Connard and at the London County Council Bolt Court Art School, 1905–13. He exhibited at RA, RSW, RHA, Senefelder Club and Paris Salon and was elected an Associate of the RE in 1920, and a full member in 1921 and the RBA in 1938. In 1925 Blampied won a gold medal for lithography at the Paris International Exhibition. He lived in Jersey for many years and throughout the German occupation. He also designed Jersey occupation stamps and a Jersey liberation stamp and illustrated several books and articles in the Illustrated London News, The Graphic, Pearson's Magazine and The Sketch.
