The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some minor losses to the frame. There is light foxing.

Artist Biography
Truro, Cornwall born artist of genre, nee Dunn under which name she exhibited at the RBSA. She married landscape artist Thomas Oliver Hume in 1871 and then exhibited mainly using her married name. They lived with him in Petersfield, Hampshire but visited Cornwall regularly in the 1880's and executed work there some of which she also showed at the Fine Art Society, Grosvenor Gallery, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, Arthur Tooth & Sons and the Walker Art Gallery. Her work often depicting coastal and beach scenes with fish wives are held in the collections of the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery, Museums Sheffield and the V&A.
