Early 20th Century Watercolour - Mussel Picking
Description
A charming panoramic view of a coastal village on the beach, where many figures can be seen foraging in the sand and around the rock pools for mussels. The painting is unsigned and has been cut from sketchbook pages and fixed together. The painting is presented in a contemporary gilt effect frame with layered card mount. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and fading. There are some dirty marks at the middle of the landscape and a line down the centre where the two sketchbook pages have been fixed together. There is a 2cm vertical tear at the lower right and lower left. There is some marking to the mount, only visible under oblique light.
