Description
A dark and mysterious early 20th Century soft ground etching with elements of à la poupée and hand colouring. The scene shows a darkened French street under eerie moonlight with hooded and cloaked figures huddling secretively in the shadows. The artist has signed illegibly (possibly T. Le Sous Senior) to the lower right and numbered to the lower left. The "title of theCercle de la Librairie collection" blind stamp to the lower left, indicates that this is from the print's first state. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing to the upper half. The etching has been closely cropped to its plate lines.
