The Murrays of Touchadam and Polmaise were a distinguished noble family from Stirlingshire, Scotland. In this scene, Mary and Grace Murray visit the grave of their father, William Murray of Touchadam and Polmaise (d. 1814). Their siblings, Elizabeth and Peter, who died in infancy, are also commemorated alongside him. The work is well presented in an antique gilt frame with a foliate running pattern. Unsigned.
