A very fine portrait of a middle aged woman, possibly the artist's mother. She wears a ruffled lace bonnet and simple dress, with a shawl draped across her shoulders. Overall the condition is very good for a picture of this age, however there is some discolouration and minor foxing. Several closed tears to the edges of the page. Largest measures 3cm at the right side.
