A fine example of an early 19th Century landscape, showing a large sailboat and a steam boat on the water at the shores of the Solent region, of the coast of the Isle OF Wight. A woman walks towards a shore side house at the right. The painting is unsigned on board and presented in a gilt frame with swept and pierced rail and corners with foliate details. The painting can be dated c.1830s by the supplier's label on the reverse of the board. On board.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some craquelure to the surface.
