Early 19th Century Etching - Cheltenham From Leckhampton Hill
Description
A delicate etched landscape in sepia tones, picked out with white body work showing a topographical view of the town of Cheltenham and the surrounding landscape. Two figures can be seen gazing over the landscape in the foreground.
The artist has inscribed the title outside the plate lines in pencil. The etching has been presented in a smart, glazed, gilt effect frame with a dark brown card mount.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. The backing paper has a small tear in the lower right corner. The frame is in fine condition.
