This delicate watercolour depicts a bird's nest containing eggs, nestled amongst pale primroses and scattered blossom. The artist has rendered the composition with meticulous detail, capturing the textural qualities of the lichen-covered nest, the soft petals of the spring flowers, and weathered leaves. Signed 'E.P. Young' to the lower left. Dated 1874. On paper.
Condition
Minor tears in the watercolour to the upper left hand corner and lower right-hand edge. Light wear to the gilt effect frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
