Collection Information

A collection of wonderful 1860s watercolours depicting scenes in Boulogne-sur-Mer and nearby landscapes. The paintings came into the possession of Sulis Fine Art as a portfolio by the same hand, likely from a sketchbook taken on travels across the country. As a result, the colours of the paintings are particularly well preserved. The majority have their locations inscribed in pen and ink to the lower margin and one is signed indistinctly and dated.
