A watercolour with body colour depicting a full-rigged frigate travelling under full sail. In the 18th and 19th centuries this ship was built for speed and handiness, had a lighter armament than a ship of the line, and was used for patrolling and escort. Presented glazed in a gold card mount and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Initialled to the lower-right corner. On watercolour paper.
Condition
There is some discolouration and some marks and scratches to the mount and frame.
