A wonderfully detailed early 19th century graphite drawing of 'Lynmouth Rocks', a popular coastal tourist walk in Lynmouth, Devon. The artist has given the date on the reverse '2nd June 1840'. Wonderfully detailed, this graphite sketch is a fine example of superb draughtsmanship, with an element of surreal and abstract shapes that creates a highly interesting composition. 33B E.M.B.
