Description

A wonderfully detailed early 19th century graphite drawing of 'The Old Church at Wickham Bishops' which was first recorded as belonging to the Bishops of London in the Domesday Survey of 1086. The church still stand today as a grade II* listed structure, and is under the care of 'Friends of Friendless Churches'. The artist has given the date on the reverse 'Dec 12th 1833'. Wonderfully detailed, this graphite sketch is a fine example of superb draughtsmanship and composition. 33B E.M.B. Signed. On wove.
