We know very little about E.H. Lawson, but we do know that she was a female and was active between 1870 and 1890. She travelled extensively and in addition to works around Britain she painted abundantly on the 'Grand Tour' of Europe and this collection includes a watercolour of Canada. Several works have examiners initials verso, so we deduce that she went to art school, although there is no indication which one. These works are from an album and have never been displayed. As a result, condition is near pristine with little to no dirt or fading.
