A vibrant pastoral scene depicting a harvest landscape with bundled wheat sheaves standing in a golden field. The composition is anchored by a village church with its distinctive spire rising above a line of verdant trees, set against a pale blue sky with wispy clouds. Signed 'V. d. Wal' lower right. Well presented in a distressed frame with textured profile. Titled and dated (1943) verso. On canvas.Condition
A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Minor abrasions are present. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear, including small chips and scuffs. There is a loss to the upper left-hand corner. Overall, the artwork presents in very good condition.
